Our Working Farm...
Upper Clattsmore Farm is run by Tim and Anne, who moved here as a young couple nearly 40 years ago.
Tim put up a milking parlour and ran a small dairy herd until 2004. The farm has increased in size over the years and now compromises 140 acres, including summer grazing on meadows adjoining the River Avon.
Now that the dairy herd has been dispersed the main enterprise on the farm is 140 head of beef cattle, which include a suckler herd of 40 cows, with calves that are reared for beef.
Bought in calves are reared as replacement suckler cows. These calves are bucket fed and guests are welcome to help out at feeding times.
Children like helping to collect the eggs from our small flock and eating them for their breakfast.
Please note that, although Tim and Anne welcome families with children, they are well aware that working farms can be dangerous places. They ask that children are supervised at all times.
Parents are encouraged to accompany their children when they are helping Anne with calf feeding and egg collecting. Tractors and other farm machinery are only operated by Tim and he is always aware of visitors.
